Iran and Oman Hold Bilateral Meeting
on the Sidelines of UNEA‑7
On the sidelines of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA‑7), Dr. Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of Iran’s Department of Environment, met with the Minister of Environment of Oman, who chaired the Assembly.
During the meeting, Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Al‑Amri commended the constructive role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the sessions and joint cooperation, noting that Iran’s engagement has been highly effective in advancing the objectives of the Assembly. Referring to the limited time remaining until the conclusion of UNEA‑7, the Omani Minister emphasized the importance of collective efforts to bridge differences among countries and achieve global consensus in order to finalize the Assembly’s statements and resolutions.
Dr. Ansari highlighted Iran’s support for Oman’s constructive role in the UNEA‑7 negotiations, stressing that Oman’s success as chair of this session represents a success for regional countries, including Iran. She further underlined the importance of reflecting the perspectives and concerns of developing nations, particularly those in West Asia, in the drafting of UNEA‑7 documents and resolutions.
