Iranian Ambassador and Kenyan Speaker of Parliament Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The Iranian Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Dr. Ali Gholampour, met with the Speaker of the Kenyan National Assembly, Hon. Moses Wetang'ula, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations. The meeting focused on deepening parliamentary cooperation, activating friendship groups, boosting trade relations, and preparations for the upcoming Iran- Africa Conference. 

Ambassador Gholampour emphasized the importance of fostering stronger ties through parliamentary diplomacy and proposed more engagement of Iran-Kenya friendship groups in both legislatures to facilitate dialogue and collaboration. Speaker Wetang'ula welcomed the initiative, highlighting Kenya's commitment to expanding its partnerships with Iran, particularly in trade and investment. 

The two dignitaries also discussed the Iran-Africa Conference, which aims to strengthen economic and political ties between Iran and African nations. Both sides expressed optimism about the potential for increased cooperation in areas such as agriculture, technology, and energy. 

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to work closely on advancing shared interests and deepening the longstanding friendship between Iran and Kenya.
