Signing Condolence Book by His Excellency Hon. Dr. Moses Wetangula Honorable Speaker of Parliament of Kenya
following the demise of His Excellency Ebrahim Raisi the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran
We had the honor of hosting His Excellency Hon. Dr. Moses Wetang'ula, Honorable Speaker of Parliament of Kenya at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran during his visit to personally express his sincere condolences to the people of Iran following the demise of His Excellency Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with his Foreign Minister, H.E. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other senior officials in a tragic helicopter crash.
During the meeting with H.E. Dr. Ali Gholampour, Honorable Dr. Wetang'ula recalled memories of interacting with the late President during his visit to the Mausoleum of the founding Father of the Kenyan nation, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta at Parliament buildings to lay a wreath. Then, the Honorable Dr. Wetang'ula acknowledged the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the transition period with a pledge to ensure that the government caretaker furthers Kenya's relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In conclusion, Hon. Dr. Wetang'ula extended his best wishes to the interim President and Acting Foreign Affairs Minister as they lead the nation during this period of mourning.
During this visit, the Honorable Dr. Wetang'ula was accompanied by a group of Members of the National Assembly, including Hon. Farah Maalim (Daadab), Hon. Jhanda Zaheer (Nyaribari Chache), Hon. Ali Abdi (Ijara), Hon. Udgoon Siyad (Garissa), and Hon. Abubakar Ahmed Twalib (Nominated).
