In a bid to enhance diplomatic and cultural relations, the Ambassador of Iran to Kenya, H.E. Dr. Ali Gholampour, held a joint meeting with women Members of Parliament (MPs) in Kenya on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The meeting, hosted at the Embassy, focused on fostering collaboration in areas of parliamentary ties, women’s empowerment, education, and socio-economic development.
The Iranian ambassador highlighted Iran’s commitment to supporting gender equality initiatives and shared insights on Iran’s advancements in women’s education and leadership. He expressed optimism about deepening ties between the two nations, particularly in parliamentary
scope and empowering women and youth.
The Kenyan women MPs, led by Senator Beth Syengo, welcomed the dialogue and emphasized the importance of international partnerships in addressing challenges faced by women in Kenya. They discussed potential collaborations in healthcare, technology, and entrepreneurship to create opportunities for Kenyans.
This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening Iran-Kenya relations, with a shared vision of promoting gender equality and sustainable development. Both parties agreed to explore further avenues for cooperation in the near future.
